Obamanation

The 2012 presidential election has come and gone in the US and once again Americans have opted to elect Barak Obama. Americans were proud of the progress this country has made in race relations by electing a black man after Obama’s first win. No one knew exactly what to expect from his presidency since he kept his plans very close to the vest. What we got was the most far-left liberal agenda in history.

Obama promised the most transparent administration in history. What we got has been just the opposite. He has been the most secretive president we’ve ever had. He’s kept his plans for a second term just as secretive as he did those for his first term. He has shown himself to be an arrogant, narcissistic and condescending man. He believes he is the most intelligent man in the room no matter who else is there. Those are simply personality traits though. The danger he poses in his presidency is in his efforts to circumvent the Constitution…the one he swore to uphold and defend. Witness the executive actions that have chipped away at the power of a co-equal branch of government…the Congress. He believes power should lie with the central government...most of it with him. He is increasing the power of the central government at the expense of the power of the people. I, like our founding fathers, believe power lies with the people!

Obama has publicly said he wants to fundamentally transform this country. How he is doing so is both secretive and insidious. His administration has passed thousands of new regulations on businesses and individuals. He has also issued a number of executive orders that are a clear attempt to bypass Congress. The Constitution clearly outlines the way laws are to be passed by going through both houses of Congress and then being signed into law by the president. It is only a constitutionally passed law that has the power of depriving a citizen of their life or liberty. That very process is being bypassed by new regulations and presidential decrees coming out of this administration. No one in the government or media has publicly made any issue of this fact and it poses more danger to American freedoms than anything else this administration has done.

While Obama made great claims of cutting the countries debt in half, what he did was double it. In fact he incurred more debt in the first three years of his first term than the first forty presidents combined! The left doesn’t seem to mind since they believe that raising taxes on the wealthy will solve all our problems. Like Obama they believe the successful in this country should be punished for their success. Their money should be taken away from them and redistributed to those who have not, in far too many cases, worked for it. The fact is that raising taxes on the ‘rich’ will only add a drop in the bucket to our paying down our debt. But liberals like Obama don’t like to be bothered by facts. He thinks the way to increase public funds is to punish the successful in our society and tax them more. His ideology is that the government doesn’t have a spending problem! This country has an ENORMOUS spending problem!! We shouldn’t be borrowing from the Chinese or any other nation. We should be cutting spending on anything that wasn’t covered in the preamble to the Constitution. At best he is naïve for believing we don’t have a spending problem…at worst, like many people believe, he is intentionally trying bring this country down. Our national debt is perhaps the greatest threat to our national security we face. For this president to ignore that and keep spending means that the United States may very well end up like Greece...bankrupt.

Great presidents and Statesmen in the past, like Ronald Regan, realized that the government raises more income by cutting taxes because it provides an incentive for people to keep more of their own money. President Reagan, a Republican, and President Kennedy, a Democrat proved that the way to raise government funds is to lower taxes and incentivize those who create businesses. When you get more people working and paying taxes the government raises more money. That is a fact of history! Contrary to Obama’s belief that successful people owe their success to the government it is just the opposite. Successful business creators and owners have made the government more successful by supplying it with an income. Remember government doesn’t make money…it only spends ours. Our Democratic Republic could not survive without the income that business provides it. A strong capitalistic system is the engine that drives a democracy. Freedom isn’t free…it demands blood and treasure.

Obama has begun chipping away at the Second Amendment since the horrendous massacre in Newtown. He stated publically before that shooting that he wanted to reinstate the assault weapons ban that was in effect from 1995 until 2005. He, like most liberals completely ignores the fact that that ban did NOTHING to curb violence. It was purely symbolic. Liberals like Obama ignore the fact that passing new restrictions on the Second Amendment only affects law abiding citizens because criminals, by definition, don't obey the law. Disarming law-abiding citizens only makes crime easier for the criminals! 

Americans who believe in the Constitution should carefully watch what this man does. He has exploited the horrendous event at Newtown to push his far-left agenda. Liberals began this push even before the bodies of the innocent children at Newtown were cold! Every dictator in history has banned firearms as one of their first acts. Most claimed to do it for the public’s own good. Obama, like his far-left liberal constituents, would ultimately like to disarm the population. They'll say otherwise but watch what they do. Many Americans think a dictator could never get control in this country. That’s the same thing many other people in many other countries have said. Our founding fathers, as students of history, saw it as necessary and healthy for governments to fear their own people! As long as the population is armed that will be the case. A disarmed population is easier to control...and easier to abuse. There is a balance to be struck between security and liberty. The price we pay for our liberty has always been high. Guns help insure that liberty.

Obama can’t really be judged by what he says. He is arguably the biggest hypocrite to ever hold the office. We have to watch what he does. He has demonstrated he will say and do anything for political points. What Obama has done seems to show that he doesn’t really care about this nation’s debt. He has said he doesn’t think the country even has a spending problem!!! He’s demonstrated that he doesn’t really care for business. Perhaps that’s because he has never created or ran any business. His ideology seems to have blinded him to the lessons of history and economics. His liberal followers seem hell-bent to punish those who have been financially successful. Though he has stated he intends to ‘reach across the isle’ and work with Republicans Obama has demonstrated that he intends to stick to his far-left, liberal agenda come hell or high water. Just witness how he dealt with the so-called Fiscal-Cliff at the end of 2012.

This arrogant, unqualified narcissist acts like he is a king instead of what he is…an employee of the American people. I believe he has his own followers fooled about his real intentions for our country.  There is no question that he is a great speaker and a great campaigner. There is also NO question that he is the most secretive president in memory. He cleverly and cooly brushes aside any questions people have about his past that he doesn’t want to answer. And, the press, the so-called forth estate, has NOT done its job neutrally. Most of the main-stream press is ‘in the tank’ for Obama and is NOT serving the best interest of the American public.

He has apologized to the rest of the world for America! America has it's faults for sure but this country stopped tyranny in its tracks by winning TWO World Wars! We rebuilt the countries we destroyed, those that started the wars, and then forgave the debts! We have always been there when tragedy has struck other nations. We have been the most generous country in the history of the world! This country has been a beacon of freedom to the world for two centuries. We have NOTHING to apologize for!

For all his talk about our country coming together as one people he refuses to reach a consensus with the Republicans on the other side of the aisle. He has demonstrated a resentment for them instead of working with them...the way our system was designed to function by our founding fathers. Obamas attitude is: "My way or the highway". He has all but completely ignored the half of the country that didn't vote for him. He has made NO effort to reach out to those who disagree with his policies.

Obama claims to be a Christian though his actions have demonstrated that he has a hostility towards the faith. He has proven by his actions that his sympathies lie with Islam. Ironically the Muslims he is so sympathetic of would cut his head off given half a chance!  No doubt his faith claims, like most of what he does, is all done for show and political points.

While I believe Americans should have some kind of socialized medical care, I don't believe Obamacare is the answer. That law is patchwork full of hidden agendas by liberal law makers. It represents what is wrong with politics. It was passed with deals made in secret and without bipartisan support. It is wrong for someone to work all their life only to lose everything because of bad health. It is also wrong for the federal government to take more power for itself and put bureaucrats in charge of the greatest health care system in the world. 

 

He may think his ‘politically correct’ view that there is no war on terror is the new, gentle way to get by in the world. The fact is, all he has done is make America weaker in the eyes of the world and weakness invites attack. That is another fact of history.

Obamas foreign policy is to 'take America down a notch'. For all our faults, we have been a positive force for human rights, for democracy and for peace in the world. If Obama is able to weaken America it will leave a power vacuum in the world that will be filled by others without our ideals.

Perhaps he is naïve in pushing ‘green energy’ before it is commercially viable. It is more likely that he is paying off political favors. I believe we should eventually make the transition to green energy too. But it should be done by encouraging the marketplace to produce viable sources NOT by government subsidizing companies that FAIL!

The president has the power to appoint the Supreme Court justices that step down or retire during the course of his term. Obama has already appointed one unqualified justice to pay off a political favor. If two or more judges leave the bench during Obama’s term his appointments could change the face of the Court for years to come.

Obama has proven over and over he is a LYING, HYPOCRITICAL politician who will do and say anything to get what he wants! He smeared and attempted to destroy the reputation of an honest man, Mitt Romney, to win his second term. He has gone back on most of the promises he made in his first campaign. He 'bought' most of his votes by giving perks to American citizens. He gave illegal aliens rights by bypassing Congress. He has increased food stamps exponentially. He has redistributed wealth from  those who have earned it to those who have never done anything productive! Obama is NOT the president of the United States. He is the president of liberal Americans. And no, I don’t care what color his skin is!

Where are the PRINCIPLED STATESMEN, like our founding fathers, to fill our elective offices?  The president is acting more like a dictator than a servant of the people who 'supports and defends the constitution.' Congress has become a cesspool of corruption. The mainstream press is going along like a sheep to the slaughter. And, most of the public seems ambivalent while they engage in whatever form of entertainment is the current fad and collect their government checks. This is NOT what our founding fathers envisioned. This is NOT the America our veterans fought and died for the last two hundred and fifty years!

What has become of this nation that we elect such people? Once is ignorance...twice is stupidity!
